The metaline river between 3.16 and 3.5 spills into this room through a massive hole in the east wall. The spray creates an aerosol metaline that explodes 1d4 when exposed to fire or electricity as a fireball spell. All other effects of metaline exposure are also in effect here; see 3.7 and 3.5 for details. Squirming near the hole, a dozen or so creatures are clinging to the wall. They were once explorers who ventured up from below but became addicted to the metaline and mutated into leech-like worms, suckling at the splash. They are harmless but will thrash about if removed from their metaline, shrivelling up and dying within three turns of being removed.
